Catching up part 2: old and new drains

Here are the money shots. This is what all this work has been about: replacing the aqueducts and the drains. The first set of shots is the old drain system, made from bricks in the '30s. Astounding stuff, really. I loved getting in there and looking down the tunnels. The old aqueduct made me think of an escaped convict movie from back in the day, you know hound dogs, spotlights, creeks. The new one makes me think of a dystopic science fiction movie from the '80s, robotic sentries, infrared, leather-uniformed guards.
